George Acosta

With over 20+ years of experiences as a DJ and Producer, George Acosta can certainly be considered a driving force in the dance music industry. He is one of the few original EDM artists that has managed to keep up with the evolution of dance music, reinventing himself and coming on stronger each and every time.

George began his career as a local DJ in his native Miami. In the early 90’s, as his popularity on South Beach grew, George began gaining an interest in producing dance music. A trip to Germany is where George’s creativity flourished and Planet Soul was born. Signed under Strictly Rhythm, Planet Soul gained its stardom for the well known hit, “Set You Free”, earning Acosta the Gold Record status. Gaining international status with the success of Planet Soul didn’t stop George from forging ahead. Once again, he returned to his roots and began DJing as the well-known George Acosta, transitioning from house to trance music. He also released several compilations under Ultra Records. Touring around the world at popular events, he continued releasing more hits, which made George Acosta a legacy in dance music.

Constantly evolving, making his transition from trance artist to the now phenomenal DJ, producer and remixer known for today, Acosta began to syndicate his own radio show titled Lost World. The show first aired on the very popular station Party 93.1 in Miami, and later added to Sirius XM Satellite Radio’s Electric Area, while continuing to tour around the world. Today the show is syndicated on Hits 97.3 in Miami, Energy Groove in Australia and Dubai, Digitally Imported as well as various stations in South America. At that time, Acosta was made an Ambassador for the HIV and AID’s charity organization, Dance 4 Life, where he shared this honor with other great DJs such as Tiesto.

In 2007, George Acosta won DJ Times’ America’s Best DJ. This award was very meaningful because it was awarded to him through the votes of his fans, which has aided in retaining resident DJ status from Miami to Cancun, still to this day. By 2009, Acosta earned a degree in Sound Engineering and Audio Technology at the SAE Institute. While attending SAE, George was signed to Black Hole Recordings. Acosta also co-create the label AcoMusic, as well as founded So Good Music and imprint label, House Farm where he’s able to have the freedom to work with other artists, remix and release various projects on his own. Gaining control over many of his decades works, George plans to re-release and package these songs under the Grooveman Records brand; Miami’s premier DJ lifestyle shop he co-founded in 2002.
